If you are on a search for the best sounds and lights supplier for your event, then read on. In this article, I will give you ideas on how to get a good
supplier. Before you start your search, it is very important to keep the following things in mind because they are essential.
The essential things are:
- Budget
- Venue
- Time
- A good sense of judgement
I will be discussing each of the essential things one by one as briefly as possible. This article is based on our experience with our own clients,
client feedbacks and web reviews.
Budget – It is really important to determine a budget for a sounds and lights supplier. It is for the reason that many of us wants to get the best service
with cheapest cash-out. The effect of this mindset is very risky. Always remember that the more equipment needed for an event, the higher cash-out it will require.
Venue – Venue is mentioned here because not all venues are created equal. Some are open, some are closed, some are big, some are small, some venues are sound absorbent while some are full of echo, etc… The bottom line here is whatever type of venue you’ll have your event at, a good supplier has the right equipment to provide good sounds for your event. Ofcourse you want the guests even at the far side of your venue to hear the sound, music and program you have for your event. Also note that a good supplier will be willing to meet you at your chosen venue for an ocular inspection. This ocular inspection is very very important because this is the part where the supplier assesses the venue to determine the equipment to bring. There was a story about a supplier who didn’t do an ocular inspection of the venue and on the day of the event, it was only then that his power cable was not long enough to tap on the power source which caused a little bit delay on the event.
Time – Search, compare and review. Take some time to look for sounds and lights suppliers because there are a lot of them out there. If you can find reviews for sounds and lights supplier then great because that is a good starting point. Make a list of candidate suppliers and compare their rates, services and past event pictures and videos. Also take some time to audition their sound quality and see a demo of their lights. If possible ask them if you can visit one of their upcoming events so you can see for yourself how they handle an event.
A good sense of judgement – This is probably the most important of all. This is the moment to evaluate each of the candidate suppliers you have and finally choose the one who you think is best to handle your event sounds and lights.
